LeAnn Rimes’s incredible performance at the 2013 AMAs became one of the most memorable tributes to Patsy Cline. The amazing rendition of the country music queen’s songs by Rimes blew the crowd away.

Cline’s sudden death in a plane crash on March 5, 1963, left a hole in the industry. Her fans and fellow artists have mourned her loss ever since.

Rimes performance at the awards was caught on tape. Her medley of Cline’s songs on the AMA stage was shared on YouTube in December 2013.

The ‘Blue’ singer has been compared to the country music legend many times over the course of her career. Her amazing rendition only proved how apt the comparison is.

Rimes took te stage wearing a full length long sequined dress that hugged her stunning curves. She began her performance by singing some Cline’s most famous tracks in her unique style.

The performance is shown through a black and white filter. Cline’s portrait served as the stage’s backdrop.

Rimes held a vintage looking microphone. It resembled one that Cline used for her performances back in the day.

With her strong vocals and sincere emotions, Rimes bewitched the audience. Her rendition was soulful especially when she sang Cline’s classic songs like “Leavin’ On Your Mind” and “Crazy.”


At the end of her performance, Rimes gave in to her emotions. Tears flowed freely down her face and reminded fans why they loved her.

Rimes became famous while she was just a teen. She rose to fame when she released her version of the Bill Mack song “Blue” at the age of 13.

According to Country Rebel, the song “Blue” was initially written for Cline. Unfortunately, tragedy struck and she lost her life before she could sing the song.
